The home-game question is about more than geography. A Jacksonville supporter buying into a renovated stadium and a London supporter building a long relationship with the Jaguars can both see something valuable at stake.

What Lamping has said
Associated Press reporting published by NFL.com on October 18 describes Jaguars president Mark Lamping’s hope to play the full 2028 home schedule in Jacksonville. That is the year the club expects to return to its renovated stadium. It remains an aspiration, rather than a finalized schedule or a verified contractual end to London games.
The same reporting distinguishes a remote possibility of three London home games in 2027 from the one league-mandated international game still expected that year. The location of that mandatory game is not confirmed. Calling 2027 a year with no overseas game would collapse two different questions.
The alternatives have changed
Our negotiation read starts with the available alternatives. A club evaluating a stadium reopening may value more dates at its home venue differently from a club operating during construction. That creates a reason to revisit the mix of home dates. It does not reveal what any counterparty has offered.
A London arrangement can provide a commercial opportunity and a relationship with supporters. Jacksonville dates can support a local stadium proposition. Comparing those alternatives requires costs, retained revenues, obligations and timing—not simply comparing the capacities of two venues.
We have not reviewed the full Wembley agreement or a replacement agreement. An expiring arrangement is an occasion for a decision; it is not proof of a particular decision.
The human cost of an undefined future
Supporters organize habits around teams: travel, family plans, tickets and the expectation that another game will come. A club can have sensible commercial reasons to reconsider its schedule and still owe those supporters a clear explanation of what has and has not been decided.
That is analysis about the relationship, not a claim that we know how individual fans feel or that the Jaguars have made an undisclosed promise.
The verdict
Treat 2028 as a stated preference awaiting a confirmed schedule. Treat 2027’s mandatory international game separately from the optional larger London program. The next real development will be an agreement, a confirmed allocation of dates or a clear change in the club’s stated position.
A preference can shape a negotiation. It cannot substitute for its outcome.
